Solar Electric Power Generation

About This Job

About Us

Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today — we’re changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power — delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America’s energy and future right where it’s needed most. By turning rooftops into local power plants, we’re reshaping how — and how fast — energy gets built in the U.S.

Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America.

Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide.

We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously — but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we’re collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together. Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other — whether that’s troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch.

If you’re looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment — and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. — we’d love to meet you.

About The Role

We’re seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to play a highly visible, hands-on role supporting managers and employees across the organization. Reporting to the Head of People, you will focus on strengthening employee experience, improving team effectiveness, and equipping managers with the tools and guidance they need to lead confidently.

This role is ideal for an HR leader who thrives close to the business — coaching managers through day-to-day people challenges, addressing employee relations matters, driving performance conversations, and supporting change at the team level. You’ll serve as a trusted resource for employees and a practical, solutions-oriented partner to managers, helping create a high-performing, engaged, and values-aligned workplace.

Responsibilities

- Act as a trusted resource for employees, helping to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging workplace

- Partner on engagement initiatives, pulse surveys, and feedback loops; translate insights into actionable steps at the team level

- Identify themes and trends impacting morale, retention, and performance, and recommend targeted solutions

- Identify development needs across teams and collaborate on training initiatives to strengthen leadership capability and employee growth

- Support managers and teams through organizational changes, providing clear communication frameworks and practical tools

- Help teams navigate growth, shifting priorities, and evolving roles with clarity and structure to drive alignment, accountability, and strong team health

- Serve as a primary People partner for managers, providing practical guidance on day-to-day team leadership, performance management, and employee development

- Coach managers on delivering feedback, setting clear expectations, navigating difficult conversations, and building strong team dynamics

- Support managers in developing high-performing teams aligned with company values and goals

- Lead and manage employee relations matters with sound judgment, discretion, and a balanced, fair approach

- Partner with managers to proactively address underperformance through clear feedback, documentation, and development plans

- Ensure consistent and thoughtful application of company policies and practices

- Design, update and refine policies to reflect company growth and evolving needs

- Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws while balancing employee experience and business priorities

Qualifications

- 6-10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner or Generalist experience

- Experience supporting and coaching managers across multiple business units

- Demonstrated ownership of performance management cycles, employee relations cases, engagement survey analysis and action planning and organizational change initiatives

- Strong coaching capability (feedback delivery, difficult conversations, accountability)

- Ability to build leadership capability at the frontline manager level

- Experience in a scaling or high-growth environment preferred

- Proven ability to manage sensitive employee relations matters independently

- Comfort with ambiguity

- Direct, clear communicator

- Ability to influence without authority

- Sound judgment in investigations and performance documentation

- Balanced, fair, and business-minded approach

- Strong working knowledge of employment law (multi-state preferred)

- Experience drafting and refining company policies

- Ability to balance compliance with employee experience

Salary will vary depending on your location and job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

Benefits And Perks

We offer competitive compensation and benefits designed to support you inside and outside of work:

- Training / Professional development opportunities

- 401(k) with 4% company match

- Summer Fridays

- Flexible remote/hybrid work options

- Paid parental leave

- Team lunches, events, and stocked kitchens

- Modern, collaborative office spaces in Asbury Park, New York City, Boston, Chicago, and Baltimore

- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
