Heavy Haul Dispatcher

Job Title: Heavy Haul Dispatcher Location: District Office – Weston, WV

Position Summary:

West Penn Heavy Haul LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Dispatcher to join our team at the Weston, WV district office. This role requires a professional with a strong background in logistics, scheduling, and the preparation of specialty hauling permits in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating heavy haul operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in every transport.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage schedules for heavy haul operations, ensuring timely delivery of loads while optimizing resources.

- Coordinate with drivers, clients, and internal teams to confirm delivery requirements, address issues, and maintain operational excellence.

- Prepare and secure specialty hauling permits for PA, OH, and WV in compliance with state regulations.

- Monitor and adjust schedules in response to changes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, permits, driver logs, and other documentation.

- Communicate effectively with drivers to relay instructions, updates, and resolve operational challenges.

- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including hours of service and load safety standards.

- Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years experience in logistics and scheduling, preferably in heavy haul or specialized transportation.

- Proven experience with creating and obtaining hauling permits in PA, OH, and WV.

- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and state-specific transportation laws.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure.

- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus.
