Fox Exploration Ltd. is accepting applications for an Occupational Health and Safety Officer (HSO), as outlined below, to join our team for the 2026 season at diamond drilling program located near Dawson City, Yukon. Fox Exploration provides camp management and support personnel to various clients in the natural resources sector. We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety Officer (HSO) to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations during the 2026 field season.
The Occupational Health and Safety Officer will play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture at the RC Gold Project. Working in a remote exploration camp environment, the HSO will lead safety initiatives, conduct inspections and investigations, and ensure compliance with Yukon regulatory requirements and Fox's internal safety standards.
- Lead and participate in workplace audits and investigations related to safety concerns, incidents, and accidents.
- Conduct regular inspections of exploration equipment, camp facilities, vehicles, and work processes to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs, including SOPs, policies, and training tailored to remote exploration operations.
- Ensure compliance with the Yukon Workers’ Safety and Compensation Act, Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, and applicable codes of practice.
- Lead and participate in weekly safety meetings, regular toolbox meetings, and
- Initiate corrective or enforcement actions when activities or conditions contravene organizational or regulatory safety requirements.
- Deliver safety training and site orientations to employees, contractors, and visitors, including hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, field crews, contractors, and management to support safe decision-making and reinforce safety expectations.
- Assist in responding to and investigating safety concerns or complaints raised by workers or supervisors.
- Prepare safety reports, documentation, incident summaries, and regulatory submissions as required.
- Perform other related duties to support safe and compliant operations at the RC Gold Project.
- Strong working knowledge of the Yukon Workers’ Safety and Compensation Act, Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, and relevant codes of practice.
- Experience implementing Health and Safety Management Systems in industrial, mining, or exploration environments.
- Previous experience working in remote exploration camps or northern field settings is an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and effective safety messaging.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple safety priorities during a dynamic field season.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, and project leadership.
- Remote drive in exploration camp located in the Yukon Territory.
- Rotational schedule during the field season.
