- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter misconduct and identify potential hazards or security breaches
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to observe activity and respond swiftly to suspicious behavior or incidents
- Enforce security policies by verifying credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff before granting access
- Respond promptly to emergencies and coordinating with emergency services
- Manage conflicts through effective conflict management techniques, de-escalating tense situations professionally
- Document incidents thoroughly through detailed reports and logs for future review and action
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or vandalism activities and implementing preventative measures
- Proven experience in law enforcement, military service, security operations, or related fields demonstrating strong safety acumen
- Familiarity with surveillance tools such as CCTV systems and security technology platforms
- Maryland Certification as Guard officer
- Maryland wear and carry permit ( if armed)
- Proof of attendance of the 12-hour guard training as required by the state of Maryland correctional department
- Knowledge of conflict management strategies to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively
- Ability to work independently with a high level of vigilance while maintaining excellent communication skills
- Prior experience in loss prevention or security roles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
