Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Engineering & Estimator Manager to lead our estimating and engineering teams in delivering exceptional construction projects. This pivotal role combines technical expertise with leadership prowess, ensuring accurate project cost estimation, effective engineering solutions, and seamless project execution. As a key driver of our project success, you will oversee all engineering and process-related functions. Serve as a contact for customers with technical issues related to the project/part. Lead teams of other professionals through projects (process optimization and control, capital improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality system integration). Supervise other engineering staff.
- Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environment
- Analyze manufacturing process flow continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput
- Utilize the most effective methods regarding product tooling and design to ensure effective production methods
- Confer with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts or material purchase, and evaluate products according to quality standards and specifications
- Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions
- Work closely with the manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with a zero defect level and low product cost
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with quality assurance functions
- Provide engineering support in the production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Coordinate work with tool room personnel, assigned technicians and outside vendors
- Support company policies and procedures, goals, and objectives
- Prepare and submit capex projects, including ROI calculations for equipment upgrades and or new processes, to support the company’s goals
- Supervise other engineering staff who assist in the support of these requirements, including continuous improvement efforts
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing skills to solve problems and train others how to use such tools for CI
- Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned
B.S. or related degree in industrial/mechanical engineering is required. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience and demonstrated leadership success in a manufacturing environment. Previous foundry experience is preferred. Must be a good communicator, and exhibit enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior. Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
