CNC Set-up Machinist

Location: 6525 Homestead Road, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77028

Work Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience

As a CNC Set‑Up Machinist, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup and operation of CNC lathes to produce precision components. Key responsibilities include:

- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes according to job requirements and engineering drawings

- Load and verify CNC programs; troubleshoot and make minor program edits as needed

- Monitor machining processes and make tool and offset adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency

- Perform in‑process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications

- Identify machining issues and recommend corrective actions

- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area

- Follow all safety policies and procedures and work safely around equipment and coworkers

- Rotate between machines or assignments as production needs require

- Collaborate with team members and participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training strongly preferred

- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience setting up and operating CNC machinery

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions

- Working knowledge of G‑code

- Proficiency using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)

- Strong attention to detail with solid math and reading skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Mazatrol programming and controls

- Prior experience in a high‑volume or precision manufacturing environment

Physical & Work Requirements

- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with typical machine‑shop conditions
