Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for various machining operations, ensuring precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing processes to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines, lathes, and other CNC equipment using CAM software such as Mastercam or SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
- Utilize CAD tools like Fusion 360 and SolidWorks to assist in designing parts and fixtures.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform toolpath verification and simulation to prevent errors before production runs.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Adjust programs as needed based on inspection results or process improvements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to implement lean manufacturing principles and improve machining efficiency.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and modifications for traceability and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in CNC programming with proficiency in HAAS controls.
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software including Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, and CAM programming tools.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Experience with various machining processes such as CNC milling, CNC lathe operations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), waterjet (OMAX) or laser or plasma table cutting and tooling setup.
- Mechanical knowledge of schematics, schematics reading, geometry, math skills related to machining tolerances.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
