CNC Programmer

Job Title: CNC Programmer Location: Kansas City, MO Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (3-day weekends) Job Type: Full-time | Day Shift | On-site | No Travel

Brown Industries is a fast-growing precision machining company serving industries like construction and heavy equipment. We specialize in complex CNC turned components and operate advanced equipment including 9 axis mill turns and 52" swing live tool VTLs. Our team is young, ambitious, and focused on continuous improvement. We plan to double our business in the next three years, and this role is key to that growth.

Job Summary:

We’re hiring a CNC Programmer to plan and support CNC machining operations from programming to closeout. This role works directly with the shop foreman and quality manager, and is expected to grow into an operations leadership position as the company scales.

Responsibilities:

- Program new parts using Fusion 360 (Esprit CAM experience is a plus)

- Write/edit simple lathe programs by hand

- Create detailed setup sheets for CNC operators

- Review technical drawings and customer specifications

- Plan and manage all CNC tooling: selection, ordering, and organization

- Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure jobs run efficiently

- Answer customer questions and clarify job requirements before production

- Plan and manage CNC machine maintenance schedules

- Utilize JobBoss ERP for job tracking and closeouts

- Provide technical troubleshooting and support on the shop floor

- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

- 4+ years of CNC machining experience - 2+ years using Fusion 360 for CAM programming

- Fanuc Control Experience is a plus

- Experience with tooling management and machine maintenance planning

- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation

- Familiarity with JobBoss ERP and Esprit CAM is a plus

- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

- Strong communication skills and a desire to grow into a leadership role
