Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) programs that drive precision machining processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality components through efficient programming and meticulous attention to detail.
- Develop and modify CNC programs for various machines including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using CAM software and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA.
- Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining operations.
- Set up CNC machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters based on project specifications.
- Perform precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy.
- Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or machine calibration to maintain continuous production flow.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design modifications and provide feedback on manufacturability using CAD/CAM programming tools.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup procedures, inspection reports, and process improvements.
- Proven experience in CNC programming for milling machines and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CNC control systems such as Fanuc or similar brands.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA for designing parts and creating tool paths.
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints, schematics, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings with precision measurement tools like micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, geometry calculations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and schematics reading.
- Experience working with CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a high-precision environment.
