The Camp Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Operations, or their designee, to ensure the safe and smooth operation of our camp(s). Primary tasks of the role include maintenance of mechanical equipment, basic carpentry, daily reporting, general camp maintenance, coordination of operations between our fly-in camps and ensuring the health and safety of all staff by adhering to Snowline’s Occupational Health and Safety Program.
Schedule: Rotational – exact schedule TBD, from mid-May to late September. 12-hour shift, on-call 24/7 in camp
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Basic mechanical, handywork, carpentry skills.
- Physically fit—must be able to lift ~50lbs on a repetitive basis.
- Experience working in a remote camp setting.
- Experience managing a team is considered a strong asset.
- A commitment to working safely and adherence to Snowline’s Health and Safety policies.
- Oversee and work with the Facilities Team.
- Work with logistics and aviation staff to maintain the smooth flow of goods between camps.
- Construct and maintain camp infrastructure in collaboration with the Facilities Team members.
- Conduct daily inspections of camp equipment and facilities and rectify issues as they arise.
- Perform basic maintenance of generators, off-road vehicles, and other mechanical equipment.
- Maintain adequate supply of fuel, water, and general camp supplies, reordering as necessary in collaboration with the Logistics Coordinator.
- Work with Operations Manager and Director of Exploration & Development or the designee to ensure the field and drill crews are properly supplied.
- Ensure the day-to-day camp maintenance tasks are carried out—incineration of waste, refuelling, organization of field samples, etc.
