Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand Storagenergy Technologies’ presence in defense and government markets, with a strong focus on drones, UAVs, aerospace, and mission-critical power systems.

In this pivotal role, you will identify new business opportunities, build strong customer and partner relationships, and develop strategic plans that translate advanced battery technologies into funded programs and commercial traction. Your enthusiasm for sales, combined with a strategic and execution-focused mindset, will help unlock new revenue streams and strengthen our position as a trusted technology partner to defense and government customers.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead initiatives that directly impact company growth, program transitions, and long-term success.


Key Responsibilities

- Identify and pursue new defense and government business opportunities through market research, networking, and outbound outreach

- Engage with DoW customers, government labs, prime contractors, integrators, and defense drone OEMs

- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand the customer base and increase revenue

- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders

- Lead customer discovery and negotiations, ensuring agreements align with company goals and customer needs

- Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to develop targeted campaigns and positioning for defense programs

- Manage and grow the sales and opportunity pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track progress and forecast growth

- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to support customer onboarding, evaluations, pilot programs, and program transitions

- Gather customer and market feedback to inform product roadmap and commercialization strategy

- Represent Storagenergy at defense-related conferences, industry events, and customer sites (~10% travel)


Required Experience & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business (or equivalent experience)

- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles in a competitive or technical industry

- Proven track record of outbound business development and pipeline creation

- Strong proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce or similar) for managing client data and sales activities

- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, negotiation, and project management

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable business strategies

- Willingness to travel ~15%


Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with defense, government, or aerospace customers

- Familiarity with battery technologies, energy storage, or electrified systems

- Knowledge of defense acquisition pathways or government-funded programs

- Existing relationships within DoW, defense primes, UAV/drone OEMs, or government labs

- Experience using marketing automation platforms in support of lead generation

- Startup or small-business commercialization experience
