We’re looking for Business Development Managers with experience in driving the growth of our electrical maintenance, testing, commissioning, and engineering services, with a particular focus on the data center sector. This individual will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and developing and managing our online bid board strategy to secure new projects.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients within the data center industry.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients in the data center sector.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new business.
- Partner with regional sales teams to help execute strategies for bid boards and data centers at a regional level
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue growth of the company.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients.
- Collaborate with Regional sales and manage National level Master Service Agreements (MSAs) to secure new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective sales materials and campaigns.
- Create and manage the online bid board strategy to identify and pursue relevant opportunities.
- Monitor and respond to bid invitations and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of bids and proposals.
- Work closely with the engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior sales team members as needed.
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and key performance metrics.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on business development progress and challenges.
- Protect RMS Energy through adherence to company confidentiality requirement.
- Ensure compliance with client policies and procedures during onsite visits.
- Assume other duties as assigned.- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within electrical services
- Demonstrated success in selling services to data center clients
- Strong understanding of electrical maintenance, testing, commissioning, and engineering
- Experience with digital marketing and online bidding strategies
- Knowledge of electrical service regulations and standards in the data center space
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and bid board platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer applications
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across the continental U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Available for extended and irregular hours as needed
- Able to work outdoors in all weather and around electrical equipment and machinery
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and perform extended computer work
- Requires clear vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication
- MBA or an advanced degree in a related field
- Prior experience with national account management or MSAs
- Familiarity with the bid/RFP process in the utilities or energy sector
- Background in high-voltage or substation-related sales
- Existing relationships in the data center or critical infrastructure industry
