Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wire EDM Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and electrical discharge machining will be essential to ensure the successful fabrication of complex parts. - Set up and operate Wire EDM machines, ensuring precise cutting according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
- Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software to optimize machining processes
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce accurate parts
- Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality standards
- Select appropriate tooling and tooling setup for each job, including hand tools and power tools as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols, including the use of welding equipment when necessary
- Proven experience operating Wire EDM machines in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of electrical discharge machining principles
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar controls for precise machine operation
- Solid knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills
- Familiarity with CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment used in precision manufacturing
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes
- Experience working with plastics injection molding or assembly is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail
