Yaskawa is currently seeking a Supervisor, Repair to oversee the planning, communication, execution and administration of the Repair operation within specified budgets, realizing maximum benefit to the company with focus on quality, customer satisfaction and profitability. Achieve departmental goals relative to organizational balanced scorecard metrics.
- Provide leadership to department in the troubleshooting, testing and repair of Yaskawa products. This includes supervision of associates, managing schedules, reviewing procedures, managing workflows for efficiency, managing workloads to minimize overtime, and controlling inventory.
- Assist in the development of the Department's operating and capital expense budget both short-term and long-term needs.
- Maintain and evaluate repair equipment and tools. Recommend changes as needed.
- Evaluate skill standards and ensure that all training programs effectively enhance the cross training of employees at an acceptable level of proficiency. Ensure ongoing skill development, effective coverage and enhanced communication through regular meetings and communication.
- Promote Kaizen, Speak Out, and other company quality programs.
- Ensure monthly revenue and output plans are met. Prepare progress/status reports as needed highlighting items such as: upgrades to quality, reduced costs and expenses, new equipment, improved productivity, etc.
- Ensure that the productivity and average turnaround time of repair activities does not exceed established standards for all products.
- Analyze the statistical data related to inventory, scheduling, forecasting turnaround time, employee skill levels, department efficiency, and product reliability. Make specific recommendations that will result in cost reduction, as well as quality, service, and profit improvements.
- Maintain the repair policy and procedure database. Maintain existing policies and work with repair associates to create new policies.
- Coordinate repair documentation such as schematics, BOM's, and test procedures.
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering preferred and 1-2 years related job experience.
- Ability to manage people, set priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible to changing customer requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing and testing Variable Frequency Drives experience including Low Voltage drives, Medium Voltage Drives, Photovoltaic Drives, and High House Power Drives required.
- Experience working with high voltage and high current including NFPA70E electrical safety rules required.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing and testing AC Servo Drives, AC and DC motors required.
- Knowledge and support of Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2015 ISO Standard required.
- Computer aptitude including SAP, CRM, data entry, word-processing, and e-mail. Strong Excel skills that include sorting, charting, and data presentation required.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills required.
