This role is office-based with occasional travel to site.
· Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Structural Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedules
· Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural documentation.
· Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities.
· Maintain structural engineering work procedures, specifications, and computer aided design programs.
· Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.
· Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise.
· Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates.
· Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria.
· Participate in and contribute to design reviews.
· Carry out assigned tasks within budget and schedule.
· Stamp documents and drawings as required and if appropriately registered.
· Assist in defining project scope. Perform site visit to various client site for review, inspection, and assessment of existing structures.
· Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians, and technologists.
· Assist in the compilation and delivery of weekly/monthly engineering status reports.
· Experiences of transmission and distribution lines, as well as the taps that interconnect these transmission lines to the main grid.
· Development of new power system and protection model for 25kV/5kV/600V substation and MCC.
· Electric system modeling, protection settings development, electrical automation/management system development, and metering/SCADA system development
· Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or in a related field
· 5+ years of experience working in engineering
· Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
· Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
· Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Smart Plant or similar
· Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
· Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
