THE OPPORTUNITY

We currently hiring for the role of  Intermediate Structural Drafting and Design.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Reviews project standards and specifications, design instructions.

- Communicates and interfaces with other project design and engineering teams

- The Draftsperson is responsible for preparing working drawings of skids, cranes, structural supports, and other design drawings

- Will work hand in hand with the shop representatives to build a detailed library for shop reference assemblies

- Reports to the design Supervisor lead about the status of the design activities

- Supports in identification of deviations in job scope, estimation of changes and notices

- Excellent understanding and knowledge of structural assemblies including skids, cranes, piping supports, and many other structural components

- Extensive knowledge of welding details/ symbols

- Checking the work of, and assisting in training of Jr. design associates

- Must be able to accurately check all structural drawings required by production

- AutoCAD and 3D modeling CADWorx

- Strong attention to detail, good interpersonal and communication skills

- Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced TEAM environment

- Hardworking and able to handle multiple tasks

- OT may be required to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A diploma in drafting from a recognized institute (eg: SAIT, NAIT or equivalent), or suitable alternative experience is required

- 4+ years’ experience in Structural Design
