Structural Design Engineer

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Structural Design Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Structural Design Engineer-

The Structural Design Engineer will design and evaluate structural modifications to reinforced-concrete confinement areas, steel-framed support structures, foundations, supports, platforms, and penetrations.

Duties:

- Prepare structural calculations, details, specifications, and modification packages.

- Evaluate loads from equipment, piping, shielding, platforms, and building modifications.

- Support penetrations, embeds, supports, access platforms, and equipment anchorage changes.

- Assess impacts to concrete shielding structures, steel framing, roof systems, and shallow foundations.

- Coordinate with mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, and radiological engineering.

Support field walkdowns, installation support, and construction issue resolution.

Education/Experience:

- Bachelor of Sciencein Civil or Structural Engineering

- Experience with industrial or nuclear structural design.

Familiarity with reinforced concrete, structural steel, and modification detailing.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with heavily reinforced facilities, industrial structures, or confinement/shielding structures.

- PE license or progress toward licensure

Other Job Requirements:

- Must be a U.S. Citizen

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
