Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving processes within our warehouse environment. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing to our overall operational success.

Responsibilities

- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage order fulfillment.

- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks.

- Perform packaging and labeling of products for shipment to ensure safe delivery.

- Conduct order picking and packing with precision, utilizing RF scanners for accuracy.

- Maintain organization within the warehouse by stocking products appropriately.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of incoming and outgoing orders.

- Execute basic math calculations to verify quantities and weights of shipments.

- Follow safety protocols while operating equipment and handling materials.

- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.

- Support e-commerce operations by preparing online orders for shipment.

Requirements

- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, particularly in shipping & receiving roles.

- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and order fulfillment practices.

- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks; certification is a plus.

- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 or similar platforms.

- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in order picking & packing tasks.

- Basic math skills for inventory tracking and shipment verification.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
