Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments, supporting overall warehouse operations, and maintaining inventory integrity. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, forklift operation, and order fulfillment processes. Duties

- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)

- Load and unload trucks utilizing forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment

- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately for delivery or transfer

- Maintain accurate inventory records through stock updates in MRP and AS400 systems

- Ensure proper packaging to prevent damage during transit and optimize space utilization

- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves efficiently and organizing storage areas for easy access

- Assist with order picking and order fulfillment processes to meet shipping deadlines

- Operate warehouse equipment safely following all safety protocols and procedures

- Keep the shipping/receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

- Collaborate with warehouse staff to support distribution activities aligned with e-commerce demands

Skills

- Proven experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles

- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners safely and efficiently

- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, MRPs, or similar inventory software

- Strong understanding of order picking & packing procedures for order fulfillment

- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations

- Knowledge of packaging standards to ensure product safety during transit

- Experience with e-commerce order processing is a plus

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments

Pay: $23.72 - $28.56 per hour
