Job Description

We are looking for a shipper and receiver to handle the numerous out going daily customer orders and incoming material from our various vendors. You’ll ensure the efficient loading, and unloading of trucks, moving material around our shop at lengths sometimes exceeding 300” in a safe and efficient manner. A great shipper and receiver is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have the willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since so many tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that our shipping and receiving procedures will be carried out smoothly to maximize safety, efficiency and profits.

Responsibilities

- Load and unload flatbed trucks and Conestoga trailers

- Maintain accountability of our material through the use of a scan gun, tags, and location areas

- Able to read and understand a purchase order

- Fill orders from a purchase order

- Create a shipper using our scan guns and computer

- efficiently load our flatbed trucks to reduce the number of trips to a customer

- Offload incoming material from a vendors Conestoga trailer

- Inventory incoming material to ensure it matches the manifest from our vendors

- Inventory and sort all returns from our customers

- Maintain a clean and hazard free warehouse

Skills

- Experience in safe operation of a forklift and carrying long loads overhead

- Able to quickly identify material and tags associated with a purchase order

- Having the understanding of how our scan guns work or able and willing to learn

- Have basic computer skills

- Attention to detail

- Teamwork and communication skills

- Physical stamina

- Combi-Lift experience is a plus
