We’re Hiring: Senior Manager of Business Development (North America)
Location: San Diego, CA | Full-Time | Hybrid
ASTERRA is a global geospatial intelligence company using patented satellite-based analytics to detect underground infrastructure risks — from space. As part of our continued innovation efforts, we’re working to expand the use of our technology into new infrastructure monitoring contexts, including subsurface conditions around dams and levees. We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Business Development who thrives at the intersection of early-market development, product evolution, and customer partnership. This is a pre-product role — ideal for someone who can create structured go-to-market strategies, identify and shape new opportunities, and drive early commercial traction.
· Lead the commercial development of a new geospatial solution focused on soil moisture risk monitoring for critical infrastructure
· Research and identify new markets, customer segments, and early adopters
· Build and manage relationships with federal/state agencies, engineers, and infrastructure owners
· Develop proposals, present solutions, and drive the deal cycle from pitch to close
· Be the bridge between market signals and product development
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, R&D, and Marketing to guide the solution across its lifecycle
· Build strategic partnerships that support long-term growth
· Bring 7+ years of experience in BD, GTM, or strategic partnerships in infrastructure, geospatial, or environmental tech
· Are energized by creating structure in early-stage or undefined environments
· Have experience driving B2G or complex B2B deal cycles
· Know how to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity across teams and stakeholders
· (Bonus): Have a background in civil engineering or experience with dam and levee operations/maintenance
· Shape a product and market from the ground up
· Gain autonomy, visibility, and influence at a pivotal stage of growth
