Role Summary
This unique role combines hands-on technical support for Pason’s newest product line, The Mud Analyzer, with strategic business development efforts related to new client acquisition and alliance management. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of drilling fluids systems and a proven ability to drive revenue growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities.
We are looking to hire 2 Business Development Managers - 1 in Houston and 1 in Midland.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Commercial (Business Development):
•Identify new business opportunities and markets for drilling fluids automation solutions.
•Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
•Establish a wider array of relationships with 3rd party service providers who may act as users and ideally advocates (fluids providers, fluids technology providers)
•Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to decision makers.
•Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows as a speaker, facilitator, and/or conference committee chair
Technical:
•Support front line sales team as an SME by leading and/or remotely supporting technical presentations to existing and prospective clients
•Work with commercialization team to develop better training and trial support practices for onsite users
•Work with Drilling Optimization Team to develop and deliver most trial and ongoing KPI reporting tools
•Develop case studies, white papers, and effective marketing collateral with support from Product Management, Marketing, sales, clients, and partners
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

•Utilize real-time data to optimize drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well conditions and customer objectives.
•Provide on-site and remote technical support during drilling operations.
•Conduct daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting on fluid properties and performance.
•Collaborate with rig personnel, service companies, and client teams to ensure efficient operations.
•Analyze post-well data to refine fluid performance and generate lessons learned.
•Experience with real-time visualization platforms and data analytics (e.g. Power BI, Spotfire, etc)
Experience and Education
•Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, or related field.
•5+ years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or similar role with field exposure.
•2+ years in a business development or sales-oriented role, preferably in oilfield services.
•Strong understanding of drilling fluids chemistry, hydraulics, and wellbore stability.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Proven track record of revenue generation or client acquisition.
•Ability to travel to rig sites and client locations as needed.
•Experience with both water-based and oil-based mud systems.
•Knowledge of offshore and onshore operations.
