The Division Order Landman is responsible for the preparation, analysis, and management of divisions of interest and division orders to ensure accurate distribution of revenues from oil and gas production. This role requires a strong understanding of mineral and leasehold ownership, title interpretation, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent analytical and communication skills.
Some of the duties and responsibilities include:
· Review, interpret, and verify title documents, leases, assignments, and contracts to determine ownership and calculate revenue interests.
· An understanding of allocation on horizontal laterals, farmouts, joint operating agreements, pooling, spacing, non-consent, payouts, etc.
· Prepare and maintain joint interest billing and revenue decks, including before payout and after payout decks in accordance with the joint operating agreement or other controlling contracts.
· Prepare and issue division orders and transfer orders in accordance with company policy, lease agreements, and state regulations.
· Collaborate with land, legal, accounting, and revenue teams to resolve title curative issues and ownership discrepancies.
· Communicate with royalty owners, working interest partners, and other stakeholders regarding division order inquiries, ownership changes, and payments.
· Maintain and update ownership records in internal land and accounting systems.
· Assist in due diligence efforts for acquisitions, divestitures, and title audits.
· Research and respond to state and federal regulatory filings as needed.
· Monitor suspense accounts and take action to clear title issues for timely revenue distribution.
· Maintain organized and up-to-date land and division order files and documentation.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in a land or land administration role, with a focus on division order work.
· Texas and Louisiana oil and gas title experience required.
· Strong working knowledge of oil and gas title, ownership principles, and legal instruments.
· Familiarity with land and accounting software systems (Excalibur in particular).
· Proficient in the use of spreadsheets for well set up.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
