The Role
We are seeking a
Business Development Executive
who will be responsible for driving growth and delivering against our go-to-market strategy in the North American (NAM) region.
You will work with Ideon’s customers and prospects to understand their business priorities and needs, determine how Ideon can help in meeting those needs, and developing and advancing a commercial solution.
Working in a team setting alongside Business Development Executives and Sales Specialists serving the NAM and APAC regions, you will focus on the following activities:
•Work with customers to understand their goals and challenges in understanding the subsurface
•Develop and implement account plans for engaging accounts to identify opportunities, promote awareness of Ideon, influence decisions, sell our products, and negotiate successful contracts
•Maintain account, opportunity and retention plans for key customer accounts and opportunities
•Work with both customers and Ideon technical teams to scope out commercial solutions that address identified needs and deliver strong customer ROI
•Build and maintain broad stakeholder relationships within each of your target accounts
•Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across your target region/assigned accounts
•Execute on a well-planned sales motion to effectively advance and close deals
•Meet bold targets for conversion volume, strategic growth, and other key objectives

Qualifications
Must-haves
– You’ll need the following to move forward in the hiring process (and be successful in the role).
•Strong discovery and consultative selling skills
•Success in selling into complex organizations
•Success in selling transformative technology in a risk averse industrial setting
•Ability to engage at both technical and strategic levels
•Track record of closing large scale deals ($2M+) over long sales cycles (6 months+)
•Entrepreneurial mindset with a can-do attitude and creative solutioning skills
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to build authentic, consultative relationships with all levels of staff, stakeholders, and clients
•Highly organized with a willingness to follow a structured business development/sales process
•Well-developed communication, presentation, and persuasion skills in English at a fluent or professional level
•Legally able and currently documented to work full time hours in the region.

More Role Details
Location
: Our office is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
Hybrid/Remote Work
: This is a hybrid/remote role open to individuals based in Canada or the United States and legally able to work in the region.
Travel
: There will be occasional travel to our office during onboarding and periodically, in addition to customer meetings and conferences in NAM as required (25-50% of the time).
Hours of work
: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, local time. You will be asked to be flexible with your hours due to business requirements and time differences between our office (pacific time), your location, and customer locations.
What We Offer
Salary
: The annual salary range for this role, in Canadian dollars, is
$140,000 - $180,000 + incentive pay
(current OTE $250,000 CAD uncapped).
Ideon’s salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked against the Vancouver, BC, Canada market. The range reflects the minimum and maximum new employee salary. It is atypical for a new employee to be hired at the top of the range; as experienced as someone may be they likely won’t have the directly related experience unique to working at Ideon. In exceptional circumstances, though, where a person has the knowledge, skills, and experience to exceed those needed for the position, we may consider compensating at the top of the range. In the application process you will be asked to provide your salary expectations. If you move forward in the process, we’ll also clarify expectations and provide additional info on what Ideon’s total compensation package includes.
