Senior Geologistto work with the Company’s accomplished and successful exploration, development and transaction team.
Amarc is a leading British Columbia-focused copper-gold junior exploration and development company with a Corporate Office in downtown Vancouver, BC. Through a combination of strong projects, financial backing and a commitment to the communities in which it works, and an experienced and successful management team, Amarc has created a solid platform on which to build shareholder value. Amarc’s goal is to discover, develop and transact BC’s next generation of copper mines.
Amarc has three copper-gold projects – the JOY District, the DUKE District and the IKE District – and are planning extensive field programs in 2026. Funding partners include Freeport McMoran and Boliden at the JOY and DUKE Districts, respectively.
Hunter Dickinson Inc. (“HDI”) is a private and diversified, global mining group characterized by the commitment and drive of its founders. Over HDI’s 35-year history it has discovered, developed and transacted 12 projects globally, that have been or are currently being mined.
Reporting to the Vice President of Exploration, the
Senior Geologistrole is an extremely important role that would drive exploration advancement on any given Amarc District, working collaboratively alongside senior management, the Company’s highly experienced technical advisors and funding partners. This is a critical role in a fully funded and driven team.
Outside of the field season, the position is based in Amarc's Vancouver office. Candidates that do not reside in the lower mainland will be required to travel intermittently to Vancouver based on business need. Preference will be given to applicants who are based in British Columbia or are willing to relocate to British Columbia for the position.
- At a given District become the site geological expert, driving the exploration on a timely basis and bringing information and ideas to the broader technical team for collaborative review, discussion and appropriate action.
- Develop fully integrated exploration models to guide and optimize exploration strategy and success.
- Participate in funding partner meetings, on and off site, taking a leading role as required.
- Rigorously maintain all technical data in an appropriate manner and consistent with QP guidance.
- Oversee and guide drilling activities and survey work, typically on-site, in collaboration with senior technical team.
- Participate on and lead as required the delivery of high-quality and timely monthly and annual reports and presentation materials on drilling and survey works.
- As require, work with executive management and the technical team to develop materials for public dissemination of project news.
- Build exploration team competencies through mentoring and technical guidance.
- Evaluate new technologies to enhance exploration success and bring recommendations to the senior technical team for review.
- Work with senior executives and the operations team to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures, and compliance with all federal and provincial laws, regulations and legal requirements.
- Participate in and actively promote a culture of on-site safety, reinforcing the Company’s policies to mitigate risks.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- A M.Sc or PhD in economic geology would be considered an asset
- A minimum of 6-10 years of direct exploration experience in porphyry and epithermal deposits is required, preferably with part of this experience working in BC.
- Ideally registered as a PGeo. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or ability to register in BC, is an asset.
- Demonstrated collaborative exploration leadership working on projects in the office and the field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to efficiently and timely collate and assess exploration data to a high standard to inform exploration objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills with a clear ability to inform discussions with the senior technical team and funding partners.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining a strong health and safety culture and commitment to the environment and community.
- A driven and a fast learner, who is motivated, results orientated, and has the ability to work under minimal supervision and manage several priorities simultaneously.
- A strong critical thinker with an aptitude for problem solving.
- Open minded approach.
- Advanced computer literacy in platforms such as Leap Frog, Map Info, and ioGas.
- During active field programs, must be able to work on a rotational schedule in remote camps on an approximate 21 days on site and 10 days off site rotation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
