Position Overview

Rangefront Mining Services is seeking a motivated Junior Geologist to support geological and exploration activities for one of our valued mining clients. This role is ideal for an early-career geologist eager to gain hands-on experience in data collection, logging, and geological interpretation while working alongside experienced professionals in an active mining or exploration environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Work safely and responsibly to prevent harm to self or others.

- Understand and follow verbal and written work instructions and safety procedures.

- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

- Safely operate on-road and off-road vehicles.

- Identify, control, and report safety or environmental hazards.

- Assist with geological mapping, sampling, and core logging.

- Collect, organize, and accurately enter geological and assay data.

- Support senior geologists with data validation, reporting, and basic interpretations.

- Maintain organized records and contribute to daily and weekly project reporting.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required.

- Experience: Entry-level to 2 years of geological experience preferred.

- Imperative: Familiarity with Minnesota geology, with strong preference for experience working with Duluth Complex lithologies.

- Understanding of igneous petrology and magmatic systems is highly desirable.

- Experience with geological mapping, sampling, and core logging preferred.

- Basic proficiency with geological software (Leapfrog, Acquire, or similar is a plus).

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.

- Valid driver’s license required.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
