This position is best suited for a seasoned accounting professional who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and contributing beyond routine accounting tasks. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset focused on improving processes and adapting to change in a dynamic business environment.
- Oversee daily cash management, including monitoring bank activity and recording electronic payments and receipts
- Manage accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, and cash receipt processes
- Prepare and maintain detailed weekly cash flow analyses and reporting
- Analyze, reconcile, and maintain supporting schedules for general ledger accounts
- Assist with preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and maintain company-wide budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
- Support retail and wholesale billing processes and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Assist with retail and wholesale customer credit evaluations
- Monitor customer accounts for delinquency, calculate finance charges, and prepare customer statements
- Reconcile monthly pipeline invoices and investigate variances
- Gather, review, and prepare financial data related to company-owned gas gathering systems
- Assist with reconciliation and preparation of monthly producer payment reports
This is a multifaceted role that also includes limited administrative responsibilities, such as answering incoming calls and serving as a point of contact for visitors when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (oil & gas or energy industry experience preferred)- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity
