Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant oversees core accounting functions, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. This role contributes to audits, financial analysis, and process improvements while collaborating across departments and upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements

- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

- Maintain and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts

- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries

- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements

- Manage or support cash management activities, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules

- Partner with operations, finance, and leadership teams to deliver financial insights

- Mentor and support the training and development of accounting staff

- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced internal controls

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting best practices

- Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role preferred

- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills

- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity
