The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Research Supervisor to supervise research and pilot technicians at the DRTC (Doe Run Technical Center), manage their scheduling, and ensure completion of research tests to meet deadlines. Train employees and manage the maintenance of the equipment, building, supplies, and work areas to meet environmental, health, safety, and operational standards. This position is located in Viburnum, MO.

This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan. Benefits start on the first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or a related science preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the leadership of research or mineral processing operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Leadership skills to coach and train employees in research processes.
- Proficient knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
- Proficient knowledge of pilot plant operations, data gathering, and testing methodology preferred.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, lab, and operation/ plant equipment.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs and ERP Systems.
- Basic MetSim experience or knowledge of optimization and equipment sizing, flow sheets, and mass balance preferred.
- Supervise the research and pilot technicians to complete research testing. Ensure experiments are conducted correctly following QA/QC procedures, report results, and provide experiment feedback. Work collaboratively with other research staff, such as metallurgists.
- Organize and collaborate with contractors, vendors, analytical lab, and other Doe Run Divisions and staff to complete and optimize project deliverables from the DRTC.
- Manage DRTC operations, including the building and equipment. Includes coordination of maintenance and repairs of tools, equipment, control and data systems, building, and supplies. Maintain inventory and purchase equipment and supplies.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees to ensure consistent, accurate, and efficient testing processes.
- Maintain EHS (environmental, health, and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures, and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.

- Frequently required to work near moving, mechanical parts; occasionally required to work in confined spaces and wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear. Frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions and extreme heat; occasionally exposed to vibration and extreme cold. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Regularly requires hearing and repetitive movement; frequently requires sitting, talking, grasping, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects and climbing or balancing. Requires clarity of vision and precise hand-eye coordination.
- Regularly required to lift up to 5 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
