The 3rd Shift Supervisor oversees manufacturing operations during the assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality production. This leader directs personnel, coordinates workflow, and upholds company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands on, servant minded leader who builds trust, develops people, and drives operational excellence.
- Lead and manage the daily workflow of the production department during 3rd shift.
- Train, coach, evaluate, and discipline employees as needed.
- Address performance issues promptly and support employee growth.
- Communicate job instructions, process updates, and procedural changes clearly and consistently.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
- Assign staff and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet production, quality, and cost targets.
- Develop and execute daily production plans that optimize labor, materials, and equipment.
- Prioritize and schedule workloads to meet deadlines across all shifts.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to troubleshoot processing issues and ensure smooth cross shift communication.
- Ensure employee compliance with safety protocols, attendance expectations, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.
- Ensure adherence to ISO, AS9100, and ITAR requirements, including proper use of work instructions.
- Monitor productivity, utilization, scrap levels, and raw material usage to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate labor, production, and departmental records.
- Complete timely and precise data entry and shift reporting.
- Partner with Maintenance to ensure equipment is properly maintained and operational.
- Previous manufacturing supervision experience required, foundry or metal casting experience preferred.
- Strong servant leadership mindset with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Ability to work 3rd shift consistently.
- Working knowledge of ISO, AS9100, or ITAR standards is a plus.
