Generator Source is a national leader in the purchase, sale, and service of commercial and industrial generators. With locations in Colorado, Texas, and Florida, we support customers with reliable temporary power solutions and a growing rental fleet. We are building out our rental division and need an experienced, self-driven professional to take full ownership of rental operations.
The Rental Operations Manager is a highly hands-on role responsible for overseeing every aspect of Generator Source’s rental activities. You will quote jobs, manage customer communication, coordinate delivery and pickup, track fleet availability, and support growth of the rental division across all locations.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives on owning the entire rental process from start to finish and can operate independently while collaborating closely with Sales, Field Services, and the Asset Manager.
- Manage all daily rental activities including quoting, scheduling, dispatching, customer updates, and billing coordination.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all rental customers across CO, TX, and FL.
- Oversee equipment availability, status, and readiness to ensure on-time deliveries and returns.
- Coordinate with Field Services for equipment preparation, installations, load outs, and pickups.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, facility managers, and end users seeking temporary power solutions.
- Provide accurate, timely quotes and follow-up to secure rental opportunities.
- Identify growth opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Work with the Asset Manager to track utilization, plan maintenance schedules, and identify fleet shortages or needs.
- Recommend equipment purchases, upgrades, or disposals based on market demand and fleet performance.
- Ensure equipment meets company standards for safety, reliability, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate rental agreements, documentation, and system entries.
- Track KPIs such as utilization, revenue, margins, and fleet availability.
- Provide weekly and monthly updates to the COO on performance and operational challenges.- 7–10+ years of experience in industrial equipment rentals, generator rentals, or temporary power operations.
- Ability to run rental operations independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong understanding of generators, engines, ATS units, and temporary power setups.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using rental management software; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between branches as needed.
