The Region Director of Cooperative Purchasing will lead and scale the organization's cooperative growth strategy across all Azuria business units within an assigned Region. This leadership role will be highly engaged and will be responsible for driving the company’s cooperative purchasing expansion across its diverse sales organization. More specifically, this role is responsible for influencing public agencies to procure Azuria’s products and services through its cooperative purchasing partners, while remaining closely aligned with all key stakeholders along the way.
Convert low bid customers to cooperative purchasing across all Azuria business units; and Secure new customers using cooperative purchasing across all Azuria business units; and Ensure customers continue to use cooperative purchasing within region or as assigned.
- Model Azuria’s core values and be a positive reflection of the company at all times.
- Execute company goals and strategic initiatives within assigned Region in a way that leads to cooperative purchasing growth.
- Develop cooperative purchasing strategy and commercialization plan for assigned Region.
- Lead cooperative purchasing across all Azuria business units within Region.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with key municipal, state, and federal stakeholders, as well as trade associations and purchasing cooperatives.
- Lead the conversion of public agencies from traditional procurement methods to cooperative purchasing to drive new business while ensuring smooth transitions for the company’s installed base.
- Collaborate with Commercial Managers, Business Development Managers, Sales Leaders, Operations, Marketing and all related internal teams to drive execution & adoption of cooperative contracts within assigned Region.
- Represent the company at industry events, regional workshops, and trade shows to promote cooperative purchasing solutions.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, legislative changes, and competitive activity to ensure strategic alignment and to further propel the company’s leadership position in the market across its business units.
- Train key stakeholders and mentor sales professionals on cooperative purchasing within assigned Region.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive sales experience, preferably 2-3 years in public sector, cooperative purchasing, and/or sales leadership.
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local government procurement processes and cooperative purchasing vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive significant revenue growth and market share expansion.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and proven presentation abilities across all levels of an organization and/or public agency.
- Established proficiency with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and other platforms that lead to data-driven decision making.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, team leadership, training, and other industry events as required (Approximately 70% travel).
- Experience working with cooperative purchasing organizations (e.g. OMNIA Partners, Sourcewell, Buyboard, etc.).
- Established network within the municipal procurement and Public Works/Utilities.
- Track record of successfully executing growth in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
