Our Dearborn, MI location is in need of a diverse, skilled maintenance technician to take care of the standard day-to-day maintenance and care of all company equipment and facilities.

Responsibility:

Work with Kenwal employees, customers, and suppliers on material related quality issues. Inspect coils as they run on the slitters.

Essential Functions/Resource Provision:

- Review daily hold lists for all TN material at Kenwal facilities as well as outside processors.

- Review any potential nonconforming material generated at the TN facility and place/release from hold and disposition the material.

- Investigate material related customer claims and issue claims and DMR as required.

- Advise customers on final disposition of material.

Supplemental Functions:

- Occasionally travel to customer facilities to review production issues with nonconforming material and pickup samples for further internal review.

- Work with Quality Manager to increase metallurgical competency and process improvement

- Develop understanding of related IATF procedures to assist in audit preparation.

Cross Area Competencies:

- Assume Quality Managers responsibilities during his absences.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Bachelor’s degree with one-year industrial steel experience, or minimum of four years industrial steel experience.

- Ability to deal effectively with customers, employees, and suppliers on an ongoing basis.

- Must consistently operate with high integrity, confidentiality, and honesty.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Ability to travel to customer and supplier locations.

- Computer navigation skill is essential.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of customer processes – Dies, Formability of metals

- Understanding of chemical reactions with steel
