Quality Assurance Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for the auditing of product and related documentation. Ensure that customer requirements are being met while producing castings at the lowest cost. Fulfills tasks within the Quality System to maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification

Duties

- Daily Process Audits: conduct process audits for specific parts and operations to confirm procedures are being followed; complete audit checklists and provide documented feedback to operations

- Conduct and coordinate product quality audits in all production locations; work with operations and customers to identify critical product attributes for inspection and approval before shipment; Document findings and provide timely feedback to operations.

- Material Review Board: coordinate to ensure that decisions regarding discrepant material are developed and put into place; issue NCM forms stating problems and assist in resolving discrepancies; issue monthly scrap reports to managers and supervisors to inform them of the scrap rates and history; assist operations in root cause problem solving based on findings

- Returns (RMAs): with operations, ensure timely disposition of returned goods, documentation, and reporting of findings

- Corrective Actions: assist line management in processing and responding to CAR’s related to quality issues

- Responsible for assisting and participating in comprehensive system, process, and product audits to select audit team members and audit assignments; prepare audit plan and schedule for each type of audit; conduct briefing with each audit team before and after audit; conduct briefing with management after each audit

- Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

- High school degree or GED is required. Bilingual in Spanish/English. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of related experience. Must have the ability to relate and communicate positively with a wide variety of people. Must have the ability to work with detailed information accurately and in a timely fashion. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the company’s IT business system is required.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
