Purchasing Agent

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing sourcing, negotiations, and purchasing activities to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services essential for operational efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced ERP systems and contribute to supply chain optimization across various departments.

Duties

- Manage procurement processes using ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400. Perferably Net Suite

- Source suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and develop strategic sourcing plans aligned with company needs.

- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions while maintaining quality standards.

- Oversee inventory management and control to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.

- Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate efficient supply chain operations, including shipping, receiving, and distribution.

- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new sourcing opportunities.

- Collaborate with production planning and merchandising teams to align procurement activities with manufacturing schedules and sales forecasts.

- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications for audit purposes.

Skills

- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 is essential.

- Strong knowledge of materials management in Manufacturing, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), inventory management, and supply chain management principles.

- Experience in procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and logistics coordination.

- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online procurement tools.

- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

- Ability to analyze pricing strategies and implement effective cost-saving measures.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in contract administration and inventory control.

- Knowledge of production planning, merchandising strategies, and supply chain optimization techniques is a plus. This role is integral to maintaining efficient procurement operations that support overall business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
