Project Manager

Minimum Required Experience
•Five (5) years of direct Project Management experience with fired heater construction for the refining industry (API 560).
•Familiarity with design standards such as ASME, API, NFPA, AWS, ASTM, ASCE, PIP and AISC
•Experience managing multiple concurrent projects involving sub-contract fabrication and equipment procurement
•Proven track record of strong customer service skills
•Proven track record of time management and organizational skills
•Proven track record of budget management skills
•Familiarity with industry construction materials, tolerances, codes, specifications, and design guidelines
Desired Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, chemical, or civil (structural)
•Design engineering of heat transfer equipment (fired heaters, boilers, heat exchangers, etc.) and/or combustion equipment (FRNC-5)
•Programming skills in Excel/VBA
•Experience with CFD or FEA (ANSYS)
•Experience with structural engineering (RISA, CAESAR II)
•Experience with 3D design and drafting (SOLIDWORKS, TEKLA STRUCTURES)
We are seeking an individual with good communication and critical thinking skills, plenty of initiative, and a desire to constantly develop and improve products/processes. You are a motivated team player who can work independently and take the lead on projects. Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
Job Functions:
•Participate as a member of the engineering team, focused on managing the engineering and equipment supply for projects
•Manage the engineering, design, customer relations, schedule, and budget of multiple concurrent projects for the engineering and supply of fired heat transfer equipment and systems, including heavy steel structures such as fired heaters, boilers, and auxiliary equipment
•Design and develop design standards and programs to effectively meet project requirements and resolve problems
•Collaborate with sales, execution, process engineering, external manufacturing companies, and customers to understand market needs and constraints while balancing company objectives
•Perform field surveys: ascertain current equipment conditions, measure existing equipment, engineer superior solutions to complex retrofit challenges, design modifications to existing equipment, communicate with client personnel, and direct construction/installation work
•Prepare cost and schedule estimates for projects
•Provide technical guidance to less-experienced personnel
•Assist customers with product-related questions and participate in field trials
