Job Overview:

As a Project Manager at OnSite Partners, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing our comprehensive behind-the-meter renewable energy projects. This position requires a dynamic, high-energy, business-savvy, and technically proficient professional with solid experience in overseeing the entire lifecycle of large-scale renewable energy projects, from initial feasibility to final execution and delivery. You will manage a variety of behind-the-meter energy projects, including solar installations, energy storage systems, fuel cells, and more. These projects aim to help customers—such as schools, municipalities, hospitals, and commercial and industrial entities—reduce their energy costs and achieve their sustainability goals.


Responsibilities:


Project Feasibility Phase


Project Planning and Development:

Lead, coordinate, and manage projects by crafting dynamic project plans and charters that define the scope, strategy, timelines, risks, success factors, and budgets essential for our projects to progress through the feasibility phase and into the execution.


Contract Preparation and Execution

: Develop, negotiate, and finalizing contracts to be executed and managed during the construction phase. Ensure that the terms, conditions, and clauses align with legal requirements and company policies. Contracts will encompass a variety of agreements, from EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts to intricate hardware, service, and trade agreements.


Negotiation and Collaboration with Stakeholders:

Work closely with various stakeholders, including legal teams, vendors, and functional teams. Engage in negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for the project and overall business. This includes scope, terms, pricing, deliverables, and any other relevant aspects of the contract.


Execution/ Construction Phase


Project Implementation/ Execution:


Following a successful feasibility period, manage and lead the implementation and construction of behind the meter, renewable energy projects, ensuring every activity aligns with the project plan. Engage cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and outside third parties, to execute and drive our projects to success.


Customer Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met during the execution/ construction phase. Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment with customer requirements.


Cost Management:

Oversee project budgets, ensuring all financial aspects are handled with meticulous rigor. Manage project budgets, ensuring all financial aspects are managed with rigor. Diligently monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures if applicable, all while upholding the highest standards of quality. Ensure change orders and risk mitigation expenditures are properly managed throughout the life of the project.


Quality Assurance:


Ensure that all projects adhere to the highest quality standards. Implement robust quality control processes and conduct regular on-site inspections to swiftly identify and resolve any issues.


Risk Management:

Identify and manage potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts. Proactively address challenges and obstacles to keep projects on track.


Stakeholder Communication:

Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including customers, team members, and senior management. Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and any changes to the project schedule.


Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the project team.


Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Prepare detailed reports on project progress, performance metrics, and outcomes for review by senior management.


Qualifications:


Technical Proficiency in Project Management:

Proficiency and demonstrated experience in using project management software and tools to streamline project workflows and enhance productivity.


Leadership:

Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate, manage, and guide cross-functional teams.


Financial Acumen:

Demonstrates exceptional financial management skills, with a proven track record of overseeing and controlling project budgets that align with project goals and timelines. Proficient in forecasting financial needs and analyzing budget variances. Uses data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust financial plans as necessary.


Contract Knowledge:

Knowledge and experience in managing contracts within the renewable energy sector and/ or large construction projects. This includes drafting, negotiating, and overseeing contracts related to engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements, complex engineered equipment contracts, and service contracts. Proficient in managing contract lifecycle processes, from initial negotiation through to execution and closeout, while maintaining strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders


Communication Skills:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders and external parties at all levels.


Organization Skills:

Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring efficient project progression and timely completion.


Problem-Solving Skills:

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges and implement effective solutions.


Adaptability:

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, energy storage systems, and energy management systems is a plus.


Regulatory and Incentive Experience:

Experience with renewable energy incentives, regulations, and permitting processes is a plus.


Experience, Education, and Certifications:


· At least 5 years experience

in a Project Manager role and has demonstrated success in managing large-scale renewable energy projects and/ or at a minimum have experience managing large construction projects. Familiarity with construction processes, timelines, and risks is crucial.

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

·  PMP certification is a plus, thus demonstrating a high level of project management expertise.
