WestCorp Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager – HVAC Systems to lead HVAC improvement initiatives supporting two underground hoist systems at an industrial mining operation east of Regina, SK. This role is suited to a hands-on project manager with a strong HVAC or mechanical background who can manage defined scopes of work from planning through execution, including coordination of contractors, engineering support, and turnaround activities.
Location: East of Regina, SK (underground mine environment) Contract Length: Initial 6-month term with potential extension Schedule: 9/80 schedule (6:30 AM – 3:30 PM) Accommodations: Accommodations can be arranged if required.
- Lead HVAC system improvement projects supporting two underground hoist systems, from scope definition through commissioning.
- Review, document, and assess existing hoist-related HVAC systems, identifying performance gaps, aging assets, and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate HVAC design reviews and system enhancements to meet operational, regulatory, and underground ventilation requirements.
- Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and execution plans for HVAC upgrade and optimization initiatives.
- Plan and manage HVAC work during system turnarounds, coordinating contractors, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe execution.
- Collaborate with engineering consultants, OEMs, maintenance, and operations teams to deliver project objectives.
- Ensure HVAC systems and project execution comply with mine safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Track project performance, risks, and costs, providing regular status updates and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Systems, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing HVAC or mechanical projects in industrial or mining environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial HVAC, ventilation, and cooling systems.
- Experience working in underground or other highly regulated industrial settings.
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- PMP certification considered an asset but not required.
