Uses technical skills, organizational skills, and knowledge of manufacturing processes to support customer needs and business growth. Manages multiple projects simultaneously to achieve successful, on-time completion, and serves as the main customer point of contact for issues related to project execution and delivery.
- Review customer specifications and requirements for all new and existing projects. Work across multiple functions (Sales, Operations, QC, Accounting) to ensure all customer deliverables are achieved on time.
- Develop schedules or Gantt charts showing key milestones for each project. Update project schedules weekly and proactively raise any issues or risks with Savannah Tank management team to prevent/minimize slippage.
- Collaborate with Sales team to keep customers informed of progress. Publish regular project updates (including project photos) to customers.
- Take lead role in periodic project meetings with customers and serve as main point of contact for issues pertaining to project execution and timing.
- Assist clients with engineering change orders and work with Sales and Operations to determine and communicate the impact of those changes on the customer's cost and delivery schedule.
- As projects near completion, coordinate shipping/delivery dates with customers, and arrange trucking accordingly.
- Work with Operations Manager to set up new, dedicated manufacturing facility to support market expansion. Assist with project schedule, vendor coordination, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, mathematics, or similar area of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least ten years' experience in an engineering or project management role, including significant time with an industrial manufacturing company.
- Experience related to metal fabrication processes and welding techniques a plus.
- PMP certification preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and technical skills. Must be able to read and understand technical material such as customer specification documents.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize and keep detailed records and work papers.
- Self-starter. Able to work independently with extensive supervision.
