We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and support key projects across our potash mining operations. The ideal candidate brings strong industrial project experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety. This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to executive leadership.
- Review scopes of work and prepare cost estimates, schedules, and proposals.
- Identify upcoming work opportunities and communicate resource needs.
- Coordinate project kick-off activities with internal support teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact with clients; manage specifications, changes, and requests promptly.
- Maintain and grow strong client relationships.
- Support development and execution of project and sub‑plans.
- Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders through structured meeting schedules and communication plans.
- Track time and documentation accurately and ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and change processes.
- Troubleshoot issues, escalate appropriately, and support continuous improvement across the team.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all project activities align with company safety programs and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, site safety standards, and applicable regional regulations.
- Ensure EHS requirements for field operations are met, including subcontractor management, in coordination with the compliance team.
- Ensure personnel receive required training, understand company policies, and follow documented procedures and work standards.
- Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, ensure procedures are effectively communicated, and reinforce safe work practices across the project site.
- Manage budgets, schedules, forecasts, and change orders, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Coordinate workforce planning and site activities with superintendents and Human Resources.
- Address site issues, oversee contract compliance, and engage in commercial decision-making.
- Lead turnover activities, secure client acceptance, and prepare closeout documentation.
- Prepare weekly progress reports and adjust plans to maintain project performance.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship.
- Assemble project teams and support training and development of staff.
- Collaborate with HR on performance matters, development needs, and compensation-related items.
- Champion and operationalize the Executive Leadership Team’s strategic vision by consistently aligning project execution, decision-making, professional conduct, and stakeholder interactions—with both site personnel and clients—to reflect and reinforce organizational values and priorities.
- Provide clear leadership, direction, and oversight to ensure effective project execution.
- Offer technical support and coordinate resources with internal and external parties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent project management experience in heavy industrial environments (mining preferred).
- 3+ years of project management experience; formal PM training required.- P.Eng. and/or PMP certification is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of mining or mineral processing, and experience in both construction and engineering project settings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS Project; valid driver’s license required.
