Project Estimator

Advance is looking to hire a Project Estimator to partner with our sales team to deliver job estimates for engineered-to-order warehouse storage systems.

- Review plans and prepare bids and proposals

- Gather, calculate and compile take off data for use in proposals and estimates.

- Interact with customers, in person, by phone or e-mail.

- Confer with potential customers to determine product requirements

- Collaborate with engineering teams to get an accurate understanding of customer requirements

- Review plans, specifications and RFPs from clients

- Prepare take-offs from customer supplied CAD drawings

- Develop Bills of Material using software tools and develop customer quotations

- Work with 3rd Party Engineers to derive preliminary designs

- Estimates, project costs, and manufacturing and delivery timelines are prepared with mathematical accuracy and are well-organized.

- Continuous and timely communication with Customers, Management and support team(s).

Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is preferred

- 1-2 years of estimating experience, construction is preferred

- Experience with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) or similar ERP system is preferred

- Basic AutoCAD skills are preferred

Critical Skills Required:

- Strong Customer Service approach

- Ability to quickly build knowledge of products

- Ability to develop detailed cost estimates that provide competitive pricing while maintaining reasonable production rates

- Understanding and ability to evaluate drawings, specifications and deliverable requirements.

- Proficiency in the use of MS Word/Excel/Project software

- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities

Travel (<10%) required for any required Customer or project site visits, professional development, training and support.
