GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The People and Organization Development Manager leads the strategy and execution of talent development initiatives across the company. This role focuses on enhancing organizational effectiveness through leadership development, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, onboarding of new employees, and training programs. The Manager works closely with project teams, operations, and HR leadership to build a high-performance culture in a dynamic, safety-critical construction environment.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
· Design, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs for field and office employees
•Collaborate with project and field leadership to assess skills gaps and training needs
•Lead company-wide initiatives related to leadership development, onboarding, and career progression
•Create and manage a performance management framework that aligns with business goals and field realities
•Support organizational design and change management initiatives during business growth or restructuring
•Manage employee engagement surveys and action planning across all business units
•Develop succession planning strategies for key roles in field operations and leadership
•Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and leadership retreats as needed
•Onboarding program for new employees for the successful first 90 days.
•Track and report key metrics (e.g., retention, training completion, promotion rates) to leadership
•Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with
•Manage and mentor the training and development team
•Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the President of Stock Five and CEO
REQUIREDKNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITIES
•Deep understanding of talent development, instructional design, and organizational behavior
•Knowledge of construction workforce dynamics and field team operations is strongly preferred
•Strong facilitation, coaching, and team-building skills
•Experience with performance management systems and talent analytics
•Ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels of the organization
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust across diverse employee groups
•Skilled in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems and related AI tools
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (Master’s preferred)
•Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in people development, preferably within construction or a skilled trades industry
•Experience in managing teams and large-scale organizational development projects
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to travel to construction sites and regional offices as needed
•Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, listen, and use a computer
•May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits
•Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required
