Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

Payroll Specialist position reports to Human Resources Manager and perform all responsibilities necessary to process payroll in a regular and timely manner.

Essential Functions:

- Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance and other deductions to withheld and other records.

- Ensures changes entered to payroll system is accurate.

- Audit timecards for discrepancies and contacts employee/supervisor to obtain resolution.

- Enter and process garnishments.

- Process manual paychecks.

- Answers employee inquiries and collaborates with human resources to solve issues related to pay.

- Responsible for maintaining time and attendance system.

- Run biweekly and month end reports from payroll system.

- Provide documentation and support to internal and external auditors.

- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, preferred.

- 2-year minimum experience processing payroll.

- Knowledge of payroll and time keeping software such as ADP and Successfactors.

- Knowledge of California state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to payroll.

- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities.

- Knowledge of MS Office such as Word, Excel.

The hourly pay range for this position is $32.96 - $43.00 based on experience.
