Job Title: Parts Technician, Mobile Maintenance
Reporting to the Superintendent, Mobile Maintenance, the Parts Technician is responsible for managing, sourcing, and distributing parts and materials required for the maintenance and repair of all mobile equipment, light vehicles, and associated support systems at the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. This role ensures that the Mobile Maintenance team has timely access to parts, supporting operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and safety.
Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To) Parts Receiving, Storage & Inventory Control
- Receive, inspect, and store parts and supplies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with inventory standards
- Track and manage critical spares for mobile equipment and light vehicles to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate inventory records, parts usage, and stock levels within the CMMS or other tracking systems
- Monitor parts consumption trends and identify potential stock shortages or issues
- Issue parts and materials to Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians, Automotive Technicians, Welders, and other maintenance personnel
- Assist with planning scheduled maintenance by ensuring required parts and materials are available
- Support troubleshooting activities by identifying and supplying appropriate replacement components
- Coordinate with suppliers to source, order, and expedite parts as required
- Maintain accurate purchase order records and supplier documentation
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of parts requirements
- Support cost control by identifying opportunities for efficient parts usage and stock optimization
- Report parts consumption, trends, and inventory issues to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor or management team
The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary technical or logistics training is an asset
- Certification or training in inventory management or warehouse operations is an asset
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in parts, inventory, or warehouse management, preferably in mining, heavy equipment, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of heavy equipment and light vehicle components is preferred
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or inventory management software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and support a fast-paced, remote work environment
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and teamwork
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
Compensation
The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $40-$50, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
