Operations Manager Trainee

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager Trainee to join our team. The Operations Manager Trainee program is designed to develop the next generation of leaders at Pinnacle Propane. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with experienced managers to learn all aspects of operations—including distribution logistics, plant management, safety compliance, customer service, and team leadership. This role is ideal for ambitious individuals with strong leadership potential who are eager to build a career in operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

- Learn day-to-day propane plant operations, including inventory control, distribution, routing, and maintenance

- Shadow Operations Managers to understand how to lead teams, drive performance, and ensure safety protocols are followed

- Assist in coordinating deliveries, dispatch schedules, and customer service operations

- Support compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies

- Participate in data analysis and reporting to identify operational efficiencies

- Contribute to facility audits, inspections, and improvement projects

- Gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and expense management

- Train in managing field personnel, including hiring, onboarding, and scheduling

- Gradually take on supervisory responsibilities as confidence and experience grow

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

- High attention to detail and a safety-first mindset

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

- Willingness to travel to different sites and relocate for advancement opportunities

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with logistics or ERP systems is a plus

- Valid driver’s license required
