Overview
The Maintenance Technician / Production Lead is responsible for the execution of all day-to-day maintenance, equipment changeovers, and support for 15-20 employees in Birmingham, AL night shift.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards -
1) Maintenance – Responsible for all day-to-day maintenance activities and equipment set-ups to ensure the plant and equipment stay at optimal operating status. Responsible for the preventative maintenance schedule and weekly preventative maintenance items.
2) Labor Productivity. Responsible for improving labor productivity (utilization), resulting in improved labor cost per ring.
3) Material Utilization. Responsible for ensuring that material purchased is transformed into good rings without generating scrap or waste.
4) Schedule Attainment. Responsible for working with the plant supervisor to execute the manufacturing schedule as efficiently as possible.
5) Equipment Utilization. Ensure maximum optimization of the plant and equipment. Identify production/capacity bottlenecks and work with management to develop a plan to eliminate them.
6) Quality. Responsible for ensuring and improving quality through implementing improved work methods.
7) Personnel. Responsible for ensuring that employee practices are being followed without exception.
8) Training. Responsible for training and developing production associates to better perform their job responsibilities.
9) Safety. Responsible for ensuring that the plant work environment is safe and in compliance with all safety regulations. Responsible for ensuring that safe work practices are in place and adhered to by all plant personnel.
10) Warehouse Management & Housekeeping. Responsible for ensuring that the plant and all surroundings are maintained in an organized and orderly fashion.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment for a minimum of 3 years.
- Production Supervisor/Management experienced for a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
· Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, and robotics.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical drawings.
· Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
· The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above the head.
· The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
