Summary

McElroy Metal has an opening for a Metal Building Roofing Inspector at our Headquarters in Bossier City, LA. This position provides support to the Senior Technical Specialist, Engineering Manager, and the Director of Engineering in the warranty department reviewing drawings and specifications and inspecting roofs around the country, as well as development of new products and maintaining current products. The position reports to the Director of Engineering.

About the Division

The Bossier City location was established in 1963, and is the location for our corporate departments, as well as our first manufacturing facility and a McElroy Service Center onsite.

Hours

8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F

Responsibilities

- Provide for job site inspections for weather tightness warranties and/or field problems with product or installation.

- Review Drawings and specifications for warranty requirements.

- Design and build product mockups for research and development of current and future products.

- Design and build test frames and specimens for testing to ASTM and other industry standards and unusual applications.

- Design and develop product prototypes.

- Assist in Customer Training Program

- Coordinate between Technical Service and Marketing for keeping up technical literature and installation manuals.

Experience/Skills

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Ability to communicate with other engineers, architects, contractors, or salespersons.

- Experience in estimating, drafting, construction, or customer service within the metal building components industry is ideal.

- Intermediate skill level in using PC spreadsheet programs, Word and AutoCAD.

- Roofing experience a plus.

- Up to 50% travel may be involved.
