MATERIAL HANDLER

Position Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the safe movement of materials, chemicals and related components throughout the facility and grounds. Utilizing hand equipment, motorized pallet and lift trucks and forklifts to complete related tasks. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and assisting multiple departments with related tasks as necessary. Essential Job Duties:

- Taking direction from the Production Managers and Group leads for safe and efficient material handling necessary to provide support to production and the logistics team.

- Support the team to ship quality product on time

- Oversight and safe operation of equipment

- Material handling

- Inventory control / locating material / issuing to point of use

- Loading and unloading of delivered materials / goods

- Replenish lubricants as needed into holding tanks while maintaining inventory control on lubricants and packaging supplies to support production requirements.

- Assist in the reclaiming of precious materials with use of semi-automatic equipment

- Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses

Qualifications/Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Ability to work and communicate effectively with co-workers across multiple departments

- Forklift certification required

- Ability to maintain accurate weights and measures / proficient math skills

- Previous material handling experience preferred

- Inventory control experience preferred

- Must be willing to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements/Safety:

- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to lift 50 pounds

- Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses.
