The Material Handler will unload and organize incoming materials using various types of mobile equipment, in a safe and efficient manner and providing support of other areas of the organization when needed.
• Safely inspect, unload and organize incoming materials using various types of mobile equipment
• Load and ship finish goods
• Scrap yard organization and cleanliness
• Operate sample furnace to test incoming materials
• Provide support for other areas of the organization when needed
• All scrap receiving, including alloying hardeners and primary metal
• Follow procedure for inspection and documentation
• Unloading of material using various equipment in the yard and storing in proper storage locations
• Scrap sampling - work directly with yard Supervisor to ensure all incoming scrap is sampled using sample furnace
• Operate computer to view call off, print pick list and shipping documents as needed
• Inspect finished goods for identification accuracy and other quality aspects before loading
• Breakdown scrap bales/boxes
• Excellent attendance, performance and safety record
• Minimum of 2 years work experience on forklift and other mobile equipment
• Ability to operate the tipper truck preferred, heavy transportation experience helpful
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all Hydro HSE policies
• Excellent communication and interaction skills for dealing with manufacturing leadership, operators, etc.
• Willing to learn how to operate lab equipment, including the ARL spectrometer and sample furnace
• Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
• Computer skills that would allow back-up support to the Shipping/Receiving Specialist preferred
