We’re looking for a Manager of the Project Management Office who will own the project management office and leads the direction, oversight, and standards for company-wide project execution. This role partners with the operational leads and division managers to maintain utilization and profitability, standardize best practices, govern projects, and ensure programs align with organizational goals and customer requirements.
- Manage projects on an as-needed basis depending on team utilization.
- Own and be accountable for the project management office, ensuring best practices and standards of excellence.
- Lead strategic planning, establish project governance, and define PM methodologies used across the organization.
- Standardize best practices and oversee business administration, risk management, and change management.
- Manage and allocate resources across projects according to priorities, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet technical requirements and adhere to customer specifications.
- Develop and maintain PMO policies, practices, and standards, champion strong project governance.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers.
- Build, manage, and maintain key customer, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.
- Provide monthly project reports on status, financial performance, and scheduled milestones.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks; enact proactive mitigation measures.
- Review, negotiate, and manage vendor and customer contracts.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, technical, or business field.
- 10+ years of experience in the power generation or utility industry, or related electrical construction field. - 5+ years of senior-level project management experience in a leadership role.- Experience with design/build projects (internal engineering team or supply side).
- Thorough understanding of financial principles as they relate to a project management office
- Understanding of PMI best practices and body of knowledge; CAPM or PMP encouraged
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams across divisions.
- Ability to independently negotiate vendor and customer contracts and develop project documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and core productivity tools.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, demonstrating a capacity for managing multiple priorities and driving project success.
- Ability to travel up to 30% throughout the continental USA, reflecting flexibility and commitment to project needs.
- Ability to pass a stringent drug screening and background check, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies.
- Hold a valid and current driver's license.
